Coplanar Debugging Tool C_DEBUG
Symbol :
Parameters :
Flag1 = Flag for static equivalent circuit parameters
Flag2 = Flag for dynamic results (as function of the frequency)
Flag3 = Flag for input parameter
Flag4 = not used
FILE = Output file name to the data directory of current project
Notes/Equations/References :
- The use of this item increase slightly the simulation time, since the input and output parameter will be written in a file on hard disc during each simulation. We recommend to use C_DEBUG in conjunction a single simulation run in order to get the parameters and deactivate this item when not required.
- If Flag1 is set (Flag1=yes), static equivalent parameters of the circuit elements will be written out in a file with the name FILE in ASCII format. The relevant output data are:
Equivalent Circuit data: Equivalent inductances L[H] and equivalent capacitances C[F].
Connected line characteristics: Inductance per unit length L´ in H/m, Capacitance per unit length C´ in F/m, Resistance per unit length R´ in Ohm/m, Conductance G´ per unit length in S/m, Characteristic impedance ZL in Ohm and Effective dielectric constant ER_eff.
Geometrical Data : line width W, line slot S, bridge width BG, bridge gap BG
- If Flag2 is set (Flag2=yes), frequency dependent parameters of the circuit elements will be written out in the file with the name FILE in ASCII format. This flag should be used only in conjunction with circuits consisting one element. The only interesting parameters are the frequency dependent resistances due to the attenuation of the elements.
- If Flag3 is set (Flag3=yes), input parameters of the circuit elements will be written out in a file with the name specified by the keyword FILE in ASCII format. Please note that some of geometrical data are given as values divided by the grid size DL. The relevant input data are
Substrate data : H1/DL, H2/DL, H3/DL, ER1, ER2, ER3
Grid and Box data : DL, L1/DL, L2/DL, BOUND
Connected line data: W/DL, 2*S/DL, 2*GW/DL, T[m] metallization thickness
Air-bridges data : BW[m], BG[m], TYPE
- The file in which the debug parameters should be written can be specified using the keyword FILE. The default name for FILE is imst.dbg. Note, that the output files are put down into „data“ directory of the current project directory.
- If C_DEBUG is active during the tuning or optimizing, results will be written into the specified output file after each simulation run. This could lead to very large output files.
- Because of the broadband modeling of spiral inductor C_RIND, for each segment (each turn has 4 segments) a shunt capacitance Cp, an inductance L and a resistance is calculated.
- For a C_CAPLIN element, the matrices of two coupled lines are calculated.
