  • 1992 – The IMST (Institute of Mobile and Satellite communication Technology) is
                established as an affiliated institute of the University of Duisburg-Essen, in order to
                enable direct transfer of leading-edge of science and technology.
  • 1995 – Inauguration of the company building by Prime Minister of North Rhine-Westphalia
                Johannes Rau.
  • 1996 – The company has positioned itself successfully in the market for communications
                systems, circuit and antenna technology.
  • 1997 - Successful development of ‘Radiophone (GSM-telephone within a automotive radio)’
               for Bosch Blaupunkt.
  • 1997 – Completion and opening of the EMC test center facility.
  • 1998 – After providing the design tools TOPAS, COPLAN® and MultiLib®, IMST develops
                EMPIRE XPU -  the world's fastest 3D electromagnetic time domain simulator.
  • 2000 - 2005 – Cooperation with Siemens in their mobile phones C25-S65 Series.
  • 2003 – In addition to private-public projects, the focus of IMST is increasingly in the fiel
                of industrial projects.
  • 2003 – Establishment of Centrum21; A competence centre for advanced technologies and
                concepts of digital radio communication technologies.
  • 2004 – Positioning as a chip design house and systems integrator, and successful
                collaboration with leading semiconductor companies.
  • 2008 – IMST WiMOD® radio modules developed for the ISM bands: 433 MHz, 868 MHz,
                and 2.4 GHz.
  • 2009 - Establishment of KAT - Competence Centre Automotive Technologies.

  • 2010 - IMST becomes a member of the Wireless Power Consortium

  • 2012 - Launch of the own IMST webshop

  • 2012 - Launch of the LoRa® product line

  • 2014 - With the IMST BG GmbH & Co. KG, IMST acquires a new shareholder - its
                employees
  • 2014 - Launch of the 3D EM Solver EMPIRE XPU™

  • 2015 - IMST becomes an independent design house for NFC solutions

  • 2015 - Development of a radar-based UAV solution

  • 2016 - Development of a new 24 GHz radar module

  • 2016 - IMST becomes development partner for RFID solutions

  • 2017 - IMST becomes a LoRaWAN™ test house

  • 2018 - IMST becomes a partner of the infrastructure project "CitySens - Smart City Kamp-
              Lintfort"
