HOWTO: Set an Enviroment Variable for Linux

In this example you will set the enviroment variable COPLAN_TABLE_PATH to /users/lara/cpw_cache and the enviroment variable LM_LICENSE_FILE to /users/lara/license.dat

You have to open an editor and edit your startup file.

If you have a bash system, then your startup file is probably .bashrc from your HOME directory:
and your entry may look like this:

If you have a csh system, then your startup file is probably .cshrc from your HOME directory:
and your entry may look like this:
