IMST becomes German representative for international research project

It was confirmed on 13 September 2019, that Dr. Martinez Vasquéz and Dr. Bruni have been appointed by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research as the German representative on the management committee for COST Action CA18223 "Future communications with higher-symmetric engineered artificial materials, SyMat" (

They will work on innovative solutions for improving communication opportunities in society together with other representatives from various European countries. For this purpose, the electromagnetic properties of new classes of metamaterials will be investigated for their suitability.

The duration of the project is 06/11/2019 to 05/11/2023.

COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) is an intergovernmental organization with currently 38 members and one cooperating member. COST supports pan-European networking on so-called "COST-Actions" for a research topic that is as innovative as possible over a period of four years. Since 1971, COST has been receiving EU funding under various framework programs for research and innovation, such as Horizon 2020.
